Dahab Sharm Sheikh El Gouna Hurghada Soma Bay Safaga Marsa Alam

Destination Marsa Alam - Kitesurfing in Marsa Alam

When we refer to the town of ‘Marsa Alam’, we actually mean an extensive coastal strip north and south of this town, covering an area of over 130 km. Here, we predominantly find a fringing reef and it is difficult to come across sheltered bays with a sandy bottom.

The huge bay of El Nabaa, around 20 km from Marsa Alam, offers these characteristics and especially advanced kiters will have a lot of fun starting right from the beach.

El Nabaa has two different designated spots for kitesurfing: The ‘Giant Bay’ is sheltered from higher waves thanks to the offshore ‘Potato Reef’ and pros might ride behind it to find some nice waves for their freestyle jumps. The Giant Bay is ideal for kiters who have already mastered the water start, relaunch and different manoeuvres.

Beginners and kiters who wish to perfect some more complicated techniques, can also use the ‘Baby Bay’, a little to the south (transfer provided), where shallow, crystal clear waters and super flat surface conditions will make sure that you will master the first moves.
