The Chamber of Diving and Water Sports is a non-profit organization, founded by Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism in 2007 with a goal to improve quality, safety and standard of services in the diving and water sports industry, as well as to preserve the unique environment of the Red Sea.

The CDWS is exclusively the sole inspection and auditing body in Egypt and the official representative for the diving and water sports sector on a local and international level.  It is also our duty to protect our marine life and work hard to make Egypt the best destination in the world.

As per the law, the administration of the CDWS is done through three different managements:

  • First: The General Assembly:

Are all the CDWS members, including the touristic establishments, diving centers, water sports centers, and boats. Those who hold a valid license from the Ministry of Tourism.

  • Second: the CDWS board members:

The board has 12 members, 8 elected from the CDWS general assembly and 4 members appointed by the Ministry of Tourism.

  • Third: The management committees for the South Sinai and the Red Sea offices.
  • Fourth: Substantive committees.

The CDWS is primarily funded by membership fees, donations, contributions and also funds from The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism.
