Dear CDWS members,
The Egyptian Tourism Federation has received a memo from the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, and the Chairman of the Power Wage Board regarding the decisions taken during the meeting of the National Wage Council held on the 27th of June 2021 which states the following:
Setting a minimum wage of 2400LE for the employees of the private sector, as of the 1st of January 2022.
Setting a minimum annual periodic allowance for private-sector employees, not less than 3% of the insurance contribution wage and at least 60 pounds.
The Council's decision was published in the official Egyptian journal “Waka’I’ Al-Masriya” No. 204 on September 13, 2021 – decree no. 57 of the year 2021 (Attached).
If the establishment has been going through economic difficulties and the minimum wage of 2400 LE cannot be fulfilled, it is possible to apply for an exemption.
The unions receive requests of exemption from applying the minimum wage from their affiliated companies and establishments 
Therefore, you are kindly requested to fill the attached exemption request, sign it, and send it, by 23 October 2021 maximum, along with all exemption justifications and documentation, to be able to send it to ETF on time.
