The CDWS, in collaboration with Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association (HEPCA), is pleased to announce the Shark Awareness courses for the safari boat professionals starting Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
The courses will begin in the Red Sea Governorate – Hurghada, with dates for courses in Marsa Allam and the South Sinai Governorate to be announced soon.
Leveraging the distinguished scientific and practical expertise of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Hanafy, he will lead and deliver the main part of the training course on marine environmental conservation, focusing on shark behavior, with the participation of a team of researchers from the association’s Environmental Awareness Department. This ensures the delivery of high-quality professional content and maximum benefit for course attendees.
In addition, Mr. Mohamed Adel Hanafy and Dr. Samir El-Segini will present a specialized session on tourniquet protocols for emergency situations resulting from shark attacks. This session will cover practical procedures for rapid response to severe bleeding and mechanisms for initial intervention during critical minutes, in line with best practices in first aid and marine emergency response.
Professionals who have paid the course fee and obtained their CDWS safari cards without completing the required courses must register and attend the course.
The course dates for April 2026 in Hurghada are scheduled as follows:
• Wednesday, April 15
• Monday, April 20
• Wednesday, April 22
• Monday, April 27
• Wednesday, April 29
